Urbanball Announces 2nd NFT Drop With Real Utility

Michael Abadha Blockchain market writer

Street football platform, Urbanball, has announced its second NFT drop. ‘Belgium Edition’ street football NFTs will be released on June 24, 2022, at 11 a.m. UTC. PVP and PVE modes come with the NFTs, with winners receiving awards that can be used to participate in real-world activities. Sean Garnier, a football legend and internet celebrity, is the driving force behind this ground-breaking idea. EX Sports, a fan-engagement platform and Binance NFT have formed a partnership for the venture. The partnership will help genuine athletes gain more exposure and generate additional money through the use of breakthrough NFTs.

What do the Urbanball NFTs bring?

There will be a total of 10,000 NFTs, and each Mystery Box will only cost $25, which is a 50% discount from the initial drop. One-on-one fightball tournament winners from around the world will feature in each drop. EX Sports is a sports IP aggregator that intends to establish a sustainable ecosystem that benefits ‘underdog’ sportsmen in particular. The Urbanball ecosystem encompasses everything you need to play street football. NFT collectibles, 1v1 “fightball” competitions, micro-events, e-commerce, and talent management are all part of this ecosystem.

The NFTs are also digital collectibles, with genuine value, beyond their usage in the game. Urbanball helps promote and grow the careers of athletes with a unique revenue arrangement that sees most of each primary sale go to them. Additional perks for NFT holders include meet-and-greets with professional athletes.

When Sean Garnier released his “Flame Edition” NFT in the first drop, it came with an all-expenses paid trip to Qatar with Garnier to meet football star Neymar and watch a Redbull Neymar Junior competition. Sean Garnier has a social media following of 19 million people and his videos have had over 2 billion views. For these tournaments, Garnier, a two-time World Freestyle Football winner, will serve as the host. In addition, Garnier’s character is the top draw in the drop.

A full initial Game Offering (IGO) will take place on December 2022. However, there will be NFT drops every month until then. The finals will take place at some of Dubai’s most famous landmarks, including the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa.
