    Summary:
  • Namada has built an MMRPG and allocated 30 million NAM tokens, representing 3% of its entire supply for rewarding users and validators.

Namada, the Layer 1 blockchain protocol focused on privacy, has launched an incentive testnet that will offer 3% of its total supply to participants. Towards this cause, the Namada testnet will host a competitive game where users and validators can test the network’s Sybil resistance and consensus algorithm, CometBFT.

What you need to know about the Namada testnet

The Namada testnet is scheduled to launch on January 15 and will continue until the end of the month. Before Namada’s mainnet deployment, participants will be able to use its features, which offer asset-agnostic privacy. As part of its test net campaign, Namada has developed an MMRPG game dubbed “Namad Shielded Expedition”, in preparation for the privacy protocol’s mainnet debut in early 2024.

In what the protocol describes as an “asteroid mining race,” participants in the testnet will compete for the top spot based on their ROID (point) total. Those who succeed in the game will receive a share of 30 million NAM tokens, which is 3% of the total supply of one billion. The Namada ecosystem will be powered by $NAM, the network’s staking, governance, and transaction token.

One week prior to the announcement of the testnet incentives, Namada announced a community airdrop. The protocol has allocated 65 million NAM (6.5% of the total supply) to researchers, stakers, and developers on the Cosmos Hub and Osmosis blockchains. Also, Namada just rolled out a new initiative last week. Participants in the RPGF round include developers who have built essential components of the Zcash network.

Participants in a competitive game on Namada’s testnet can evaluate the network’s Sybil resistance and consensus algorithm, CometBFT. Before Namada’s mainnet deployment, participants will be able to use its features, which offer asset-agnostic privacy.
