- Summary:
- YOM will leverage io.net’s vast network of globally distributed GPUs to enhance its state-of-the-art pixel streaming capabilities.
Leading decentralized GPU infrastructure network io.net has teamed up with cloud gaming decentralized network (DePIN) YOM, the strategic partners are aiming to widen the accessibility of high-quality gaming experiences.
The collaboration will see YOM leverage io.net’s vast network of globally distributed GPUs to enhance its state-of-the-art pixel streaming capabilities. With the support of io.net, the DePIN platform will enable seamless, low-latency delivery of AAA gaming experiences to players around the world, while significantly reducing costs compared to traditional centralized server solutions.
“We are extremely proud to partner with YOM, a cutting-edge project that shares our passion for decentralization – and in particular DePIN,” said Tausif Ahmed, VP of Business Development at io.net. “By combining our decentralized GPU infrastructure with YOM’s pioneering cloud gaming infrastructure, we are giving players access to a rich and accessible ecosystem that benefits them in countless ways.”
YOM intends to utilize io.net’s network to support regions where individual nodes have not yet been established, and to handle overflow during peak traffic periods. The result is that consistent, low-latency gaming experiences will be made possible for players, irrespective of their physical location or demands on the network.
“Working with io.net allows us to significantly expand our global reach while maintaining the same high-quality gaming experience users have come to expect,” said Andrew Pringle, CEO of YOM.
“With the gaming market recognized as the biggest consumer entertainment sector by usage and revenue, the ability to quickly match GPU demand in various regions is vital to ensuring optimal UX. Our vision of making AAA gaming experiences accessible to everyone, everywhere, at near-zero prices is coming into clearer focus.”
YOM’s robust feature set includes voice chat, multiplayer capabilities, cross-device controls, and comprehensive analytics. Leveraging a distributed network of gaming machines, the platform enables low-latency, near-zero cost cloud gaming to any device and channel, effectively eliminating the need for dedicated game consoles (Xbox, Playstation) and platforms like Steam.
About io.net
io.net is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) that deploys and manages on-demand, decentralized GPU clusters from geo-distributed sources. Hundreds of thousands of GPUs are accessible today in IO Network, and this Internet of GPUs is specifically architected for low latency, high processing demand use cases like AI/ML ops and cloud gaming. io.net democratizes access to GPU compute capacity while reducing costs, expediting lead times, and expanding choice for engineers and businesses. Access compute capacity for a fraction of the cost or become a capacity supplier at io.net.
