- Summary:
- The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), with 75,000+ members in India, has chosen Avalanche to certify qualification.
To ensure that credentials in India are tamper-evident, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), has decided to issue its credentialing system through Ava Labs’ Avalanche blockchain. To kick off their collaboration, IEEE and Zupple Labs will issue tamper-proof, instantaneously verifiable credentials to hundreds of thousands of Indian users on Avalanche Blockchain.
The collaboration has also integrated Zupple Labs, whose LegitDoc platform will be used by IEEE to issue blockchain certificates. LegitDocs, a credential lifecycle management system is also built on the blockchain. One of the key attractions in Avalanche, besides its fast transaction speeds, was the requirement for an ecosystem that is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine.
A watershed moment for Web3 and Avalanche
With more than 75,000 members, India ranks second after the United States in terms of IEEE membership. This project is a huge endorsement for the broader Web3 ecosystem, owing to IEEE’s standing as a renowned world leader in technology. The institute’s standing is such that its credentialing system is relied upon by thousands of entities in the academic and business worlds. Therefore, this is also a watershed moment for blockchain technology.
For Avalanche, this is a major milestone, signifying its reliability, scalability and security for credentialing, the certificates issued by an organisation of such stature. On a global scale, this boosts innovation and economic growth by promoting trust and collaboration among varied stakeholders and encouraging increased engagement in the Web3 ecosystem.
By utilising this Avalanche blockchain-based credentialing system, IEEE aims to improve the security, efficiency, and transparency of its operations. Not only will this benefit all the stakeholders involved, but it will also guarantee that credentials issued by the organisation are tamper-proof and instantly verifiable.
