The DOGS meme coin’s highly anticipated Token Generation Event (TGE) has been postponed from August 23rd to August 26th, 2024.
The DOGS team announced the new timeline on their official Telegram channel, stating that claims to exchanges and Telegram Wallet are open until 4 pm UTC on August 23rd. The claim to non-custodial wallets will be available from 8 am UTC on August 26th. Finally, the Token Generation Event and listing are scheduled for noon UTC on August 26th.
The decision was made after a massive surge in interest, as 8 million verified users registered for direct deposits of DOGS tokens to the Telegram Wallet and exchange wallets. This staggering demand caused the DOGS team to postpone the Token Generating Event to ensure all users had sufficient time to claim their tokens. The team said the delay would ensure a successful launch as they would be prepared to accommodate the many participants and have expanded the withdrawal options.
The delays seem to have not dampened enthusiasm, as DOGS is still trending on social media platforms like X . DOGS popularity is seen in the preparations by major centralized exchanges like Gate.io, Binance and Bitget, which are expecting to list DOGS.
