Fuse, the Web3 payments platform, is collaborating with ChromePay to provide decentralized identity (D.ID) solutions in Africa. Due to the integration, ChromePay customers will be able to conduct both traditional and blockchain-based financial transactions from their mobile devices. That will open the door for millions more Africans to join the Web3 economy.
This integration will also allow for more decentralized financial services to be built on Charge, a platform for building payment applications on Web3. In addition, ChromePay will build a decentralized market that provides users with an entry point to traditional financial markets.
ChromePay is a financial platform hosted in the cloud that provides digital payment solutions to financial institutions and their customers. The Israeli Ministry of Economy, Google SDG, and others have all supported the company thus far. Furthermore, ChromePay has received funding from Fuse to expand its blockchain-based DeFi and D.ID services. The company’s main mission is to provide a suite of Web 3.0 payment services based on a decentralized identity solution.
When it comes to web3 payments, Fuse is a blockchain and ecosystem that has both businesses and customers in mind. As a result, ChromePay will benefit greatly from Fuse’s cutting-edge blockchain and infrastructure as they expand into the African market.
A significant portion of the African population cannot open a bank account because they do not have the identification documents necessary to do so. However, with ChromePay’s D.ID and Web3 DeFi services, consumers will have a chance to gain access to financial services while also paving the way for cutting-edge career paths and business options.
Gabriel Saunyama, CEO of ChromePay says:
“Blockchain has much-untapped potential for positively impacting underserved markets. We chose to partner with Fuse because their Blockchain is affordable, consumer-friendly, and we share a common goal to promote financial inclusion.”
ChromePay’s pilot program got off to a great start in Nigeria, where it has already onboarded more than 5,000 people. Their next step is to introduce D.ID on Fuse in Ethiopia, a country that recently placed in the top ten in Africa for cryptocurrency adoption, with over 1.8 million people owning crypto. Chromepay’s digital ID eliminates numerous obstacles to using banking services. It facilitates accurate risk evaluation, the introduction of new financial services, and expansion into underserved areas.
