Forex Markets: Fed’s Powell Will Drive Markets Today
In our calendar today GBPUSD traders will focus in June CBI survey data in the UK while from Eurozone we have the June confidence indicators in France.
In the Americas trading session we await the US CB Consumer Confidence figures to be released, June Richmond Fed survey and New Homes Sales at 14:00GMT. From Canada we have the wholesale sales data at 12:30GMT.
In Central Banks, investors will focus on the speech by the Reserve Bank of Australia’s Assistant Governor Bullock at 07:05GMT while the ECB Vice President Luis De Guindos will speak at 08:00. Also Fed members Barkin, Williams, Bostic, and Bullard are all due to speak later today.
The main event today is a speech by Fed’s Jerome Powell at 16:00GMT as traders will wait for fresh cues about the interest rates decision in July.
During the Asian trading session in Australia the ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence came in unchanged last week, adding just 0.1%, while in Japan the Central Bank released the minutes from the April 24-25 meeting.
