Blockchain gaming studio Delabs Games, the creators of the highly acclaimed Rumble Racing Star and other forthcoming titles, has announced the successful closing of a $4.7 million seed financing round. The funding round was led by Hashed Ventures and included Spartan Labs, Polygon Labs, blockchain game firm Planetarium, and Merit Circle.
The company announced that the money will be used to market games and fund community development efforts. The team at Delabs Games is currently focusing on creating games for the Ethereum-based scaling network Polygon.
Delabs Games is the crypto gaming division of 4:33 Creative Lab, a South Korean game studio with 13 years of expertise and over 250 million downloads globally. The parent company has a rich portfolio of mobile games, including notable ones like Boxing Star, Battle Boom, and Eroica.
Fundraising news for the company comes a short while after it completed an invite-only testing event for PC game Rumble Racing Star. PFP NFT partners and Adventure Pass NFT holders were among the invites to the special event. Kevin Henrikson, creator of the y00ts NFT collection, was full of praise for the game, describing it as “extremely addictive” and with “captivating” features.
Delabs is also developing a space survival game called Space Frontier and a cartoonish post-apocalyptic survival game called Meta Bolts. While both Space Frontier and Meta Bolts are still in development, Rumble Racing Star is scheduled for release later this year.
Prior to April’s minting of Adventure Pass NFT, Delabs had established bragging rights in the web3 community as the first South Korean game company to earn the top position on the OpenSea NFT marketplace. The team of artists and developers at Delab Games are committed to making original racing and role-playing games with a focus on accessibility and user-friendliness.
