    Summary:
  • Conflux has a head start in the blockchain-based SIM card (BSIM) and a strong presence in Asia, while World Mobile is expanding in Africa.

Conflux, the first public blockchain that complies with Chinese government regulations, has announced a partnership with the first and only globally blockchain-based mobile network, World Mobile. The collaboration’s end goal is to promote the wider availability of blockchain-based mobile services. The initiative’s goals include the creation of a blockchain-based SIM card and the improvement of public bridges, as well as the growth of the Asian and African markets.

What the partnership aims to achieve

The collaboration’s end goal, Conflux Network, is a permissionless Layer 1 blockchain that bridges decentralised economies across national boundaries and technical standards. Conflux’s status as the only public blockchain that satisfies Chinese regulators gives it a leg up on the competition for projects looking to start and scale in Asia.

World Mobile, on the other hand, is built on blockchain technology and promotes participation in a sharing economy by giving individuals and small business owners everywhere the opportunity to run nodes on its network and connect their communities to the internet while also profiting from doing so.

The two companies hope to increase their customer base, lower the cost of connectivity, and speed up the spread of blockchain technology across Asia and beyond by working together on multiple fronts. As part of this partnership, the two companies will work together on four fronts initially.

• Public Bridging: World Mobile Token (WMT) will connect the Cardano blockchain with the Conflux blockchain environment, becoming the first bridge for the mobile network’s native token outside of the Cardano ecosystem.

• Tech Integration: World Mobile and Conflux will collaborate on the technology integration of World Mobile’s sidechain, AyA, into the Conflux network to enable EarthNode capabilities and monetary settlement.

• Penetration of the Asian and African Markets: Conflux has a strong foothold in Asia, while World Mobile has established itself in the African market. The two companies plan to leverage these benefits to increase connectivity, stimulate user growth, and deepen market penetration in key regions.

• Blockchain-Based SIM Card Development: World Mobile and Conflux will collaborate to explore how the mobile network may utilise Conflux’s blockchain-based SIM card to increase digital connection around the world.
