Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, has reaffirmed its pledge to support the participation of women in the Web3 industry. With a budget of over $2 million spent since launch, Binance has poured resources into programs that provide women with access to mentorship, training and financial aid. The company’s goal in instituting the program is to increase the number of influential women working in the field of tech innovation.
Women from more than ten countries from all over the world are benefiting from the initiative. About 36,000 women were awarded Web3 scholarships in 2022, thanks to a $2 million donation from Binance Charity. Women from Germany, Kenya, Nigeria, Brazil, South Africa, France, Ukraine and Austrlia were the recipients of the 2022 scholarships to pursue university education from institutions offering blockchain and cryptocurrency-related programs.
Female mentorship programs, talent workshops, training seminars and talks are just some of the ways that Binance is helping women grow in the tech world. These initiatives provide a forum where women can network and exchange ideas on how to succeed in the male-dominated field of Web3. He Yi, Chief Marketing Officer of Binance says the company’s educational and internship programs are designed to equip young women to disrupt traditional industries.
Binance is notable for being co-founded by He Yi, a woman, making it one of the few crypto companies with a female founder. Binance Charity will donate an additional $100,000 to Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) in honour of International Women’s Day to fund Web3 education and training for women. Also, Binance Academy will supply teaching materials for the GITA Web3 courses.
As of the year 2022, there were about 292 cryptocurrency enterprises in the world that were founded by women, out of a total of more than 10,000. Binance has launched its first official internship and graduate programs, expanding opportunities for women and other underrepresented groups to pursue employment in the crypto industry.
