    Summary:
  • Algorand Foundation aims to use the hackathon to expand the Algorand ecosystem and it has opened up the competition to eveeryone.

The Algorand Foundation, the organisation working to develop the Algorand ecosystem, has announced that registration is now open for Build-A-Bull, a global virtual hackathon with $200,000 (USD) in prizes. The hackathon will begin on October 18 and end on November 15, 2023, and it will be hosted by Algorand Ventures with support from AWS. The hackathon is free to enter and anyone can sign up.

Over the course of four weeks, participants in the Build-A-Bull hackathon will use the robust and scalable features of the Algorand blockchain to develop user-friendly applications. Hackathon participants can come up with an idea for a business, speed up the development process, and then present their finished product to a panel of judges.

The process will provide participants with a network of contacts, resources, and guidance as they work to bring their ideas to fruition. Judges include prominent entrepreneurs and investors like those from QCP Capital, DWF Ventures, and Blockchain Capital.  The project’s viability in the market and the quality of the pitch will be considered in addition to the team’s expertise and the project’s design and interface.

“With Build-A-Bull, we expect to attract a new wave of promising builders to come into the Algorand ecosystem,” says Ryan Terribilini, EVP of Algorand Ventures.

With the goal of bringing cutting-edge innovations to the Algorand blockchain and providing the future generation of Algorand developers with the exposure and tools they need to succeed, the hackathon is on the lookout for promising entrepreneurs and founders.
