Authtrail Partners With BOTLabs to Integrate  KILT Protocol’s DID Functionality

Michael Abadha Blockchain market writer
    Summary:
  • Blockchain data integrity solutions platform, Authrail, has partnered with BOTLabs (BTE) to integrate KILT’s DID. How significant is this?

Data integrity platform, Authtrail, has partnered with KILT applications developer, B.T.E. BOTLabs Trusted Entity GmbH (BTE), to integrate KILT DIDs into the Authtrail platform. The development will see Authrail improve the transparency of its data flows. Additionally, it will enhance its trustworthiness without compromising security. Essentially, all of the data sources that Authtrail uses are going to have KILT’s decentralized IDs and verified credentials.

The partnership merges the strengths of the two platforms to enhance data transmission efficiency. Currently, Authtrail has an additional level of confidence in the accuracy and traceability of its data, thanks to the KILT Protocol’s conversion of physical identification credentials to digital form. Also, it leverages Authtrail’s enterprise clients’ need for Decentralized Identities (DID). Typically, the client list includes systems, organizations, and employees.

Why does it matter?

Using the DIDSign functionality on the Authtrail application makes it possible to streamline the onboarding process for large enterprises. This is because end users wouldn’t need knowledge of blockchain or DIDs. The DIDSign is an application developed by BTE on the KILT platform. Essentially, it links a data hash with a DID to create a signature. Notably, it only stores the DID on the KILT blockchain, not the signature.

Authtrail currently guarantees the immutability of data gathered on its platform. However, following the integration of the DIDsign it can now ensure data integrity before uploading it to the blockchain. Therefore, in case there’s an alteration to the anchored data, there will be a mismatch between the signature and the altered data. Consequently, it would become easy to detect any attempts to compromise data.

Authtrail CEO, Matjaž Sobočan, expressed his delight at working with BTE and integrating DIDSign. Also, he added that it would enable the platform to offer its clients greater value by allowing them to create innovative and secure identity systems.

“Collaborating with Authtrail, an expert in enterprise data management, will drive higher trust at a lower cost deeper into organizations,” said Ingo Rübe, founder of KILT Protocol and CEO of B.T.E.
