Pro e-sports team, Pittsburgh Knights, has announced a forthcoming NFT drop on entertainment-centric NFT marketplace, ThetaDrop. Besides owning the NFTs, holders will enjoy special benefits n their interactions with the team. These benefits will include ticketing privileges, special access to the team’s merchandise, and one-on-one chats with influential personalities in the Knights Organization. Other benefits will include physical merchandizes earning digital generative characters, which serve as ThetaPass tickets.
The NFT drop will begin in April, with three more to follow in the year. For Theta NFT, this partnership with the Pittsburgh Knights follows a long line of collaborations with major names in entertainment. Previous collaborations involved Katy Perry, Dionne Warwick, World Poker Tour, Jukin Media, Fuse Media, and Fremantle.
The decision to launch on Theta Lab’s ThetaDrop was due to the network’s cutting-edge technology and network efficiency. Particularly, Theta Network specializes in developing video, music and entertainment NFTs. Also, it has super-fast transaction speeds, up to 100 times faster than Ethereum. Furthermore, it uses proof-of-stake protocol, using a small fraction of electricity, thereby making it friendlier to the environment. Additionally, transaction costs are substantially lower.
Mitch Liu, CEO of Theta Labs, alluded to Theta Lab’s foundation, which emanated from gaming, VR meta world, and e-sports. He expressed confidence that the partnership with the Knights will offer fans great value and exciting experiences. Knights director of business development Matt Roche, added his voice, stating, “As an organization, it’s a main goal of ours to share opportunities and access with gaming fans – it’s something that we do with our events, our community programs, our pug lobbies, and now with Theta Labs, we’ll be able to do that with NFTs.”
